CKY kicked off Alien Ant Farm tour following violent altercation

The frontman of American rock band CKY, Chad I Ginsburg, has released a statement after the band kicked off their tour with Alien Ant Farm. The two bands were touring together until Ginsburg allegedly punched Dryden Mitchell in the face.

CKY and Alien Ant Farm have been touring Europe together on a co-headline billing as the two bands shared the stage around the continent. However, as the two bands were moments away from starting the UK leg of their tour together, an incident occurred. On November 9th, only hours before their opening date at Margate’s Dreamland, Alien Ant Farm’s singer Dryden Mitchell announced that CKY had been kicked off the tour and removed from the lineup.

In an initial statement, Mitchell claimed that Ginsburg had been removed due to violent and threatening behaviour. He said that the CYK singer had punched him in the face after he’d been confronted about “treating multiple crew members and opening band members like trash through the Europe shows and causing general drama around our camp”. Clearly, there have been issues bubbling away throughout their tour together that have now boiled over into action being taken against Ginsburg’s behaviour.

He added that he was sad to see the rest of CKY leave the tour and that they were being punished for Ginsburg’s actions. He also apologised to CKY fans in the UK who were left disappointed by the announcement.

However, Ginsburg’s statement implored his upset fans to take action. He wrote on social media on November 10th, “UK CKY fans get your money back!!!” He added, “I had NO choice and GOOD reason for what happened. I will always defend myself. You know me much better than that! More info to come, apologies to the fans.”

At the end of his statement, he added the hashtags, “onesidedbullshit”, “twosidestoeverystory” and “ifyouonlyknew”.

The rest of the Alien Ant Farm tour will go on as planned, with the band playing cities including Bristol, Norwich, Birmingham, Nottingham, Newcastle and more. The tour concludes with a big show at London’s Kentish Town Forum on November 24th. Only now, it will be played without CKY on the bill too.
