Cher’s son, Elijah Allman, arrested for a second time after New Hampshire burglary charge

Elijah Allman, the son of Cher and the late Gregg Allman, has been arrested for the second time in a matter of days after allegedly breaking into a home in New Hampshire.

The 49-year-old was previously taken into custody last week for causing a disturbance at a private school with which he has no connections, and was subsequently rearrested on March 1st after allegedly breaking into a home in the Windham area of New Hampshire, it has emerged.

Per The Independent, a statement from local police said that Allman has been charged with burglary, two counts of criminal mischief, and breach of bail.

He was then brought before a court on March 2nd and has since been handed “preventative detention”, according to authorities.

The original offences of criminal trespassing, criminal threatening, and disorderly conduct were brought upon Allman after he was accused of creating a disturbance at a school in Concord on February 28th, from which he was originally released from police custody. He is expected to appear in court relating to these charges on April 20th.

Cher has not yet made any public statement regarding the arrest of her son, who is the only child from her relationship with the late Allman Brothers founder, Gregg Allman. Far Out has approached representatives of the singer for comment.

She previously filed a bid for conservatorship over Allman in December 2023, citing the fact that he was allegedly “substantially unable to manage his financial resources” owing to “severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”

However, Cher subsequently dropped this bid in September 2024, with the pair having reportedly reached a private settlement on the case.

Cher also has another son, Chaz Bono, whose father was her former musical partner and husband, Sonny Bono.
