Ceasefire EP announced by Massive Attack, Fontaines D.C., and Young Fathers in support of Gaza relief efforts

Massive Attack, Fontaines D.C. and Young Fathers have all teamed up to create music for a limited edition vinyl run. All the money from vinyl sales will go to Doctors Without Borders, which operates in Gaza and the West Bank.

The new vinyl is the Ceasefire EP, featuring music from all three bands. It can be pre-ordered today and is released solely in support of a ceasefire. Fontaines D.C. also called for “a permanent end to Israel’s brutal occupation of Palestine.”

During the current phase of the Israel-Hamas war, more than 20,000 Palestinians have been confirmed killed, and a large number of musicians have spoken out in protest.

“The hourly scenes of horror in Gaza, with hospitals and schools bombed to dust and innocent civilians, journalists, and doctors killed in unspeakable numbers has been made so much worse by more than ten weeks of abject political failure,” said Robert “3D” Del Naja from Massive Attack, “We’re in awe of the Doctors Without Borders medics who place their lives on the line to help innocent civilians in Gaza. The Ceasefire EP is a tribute to them and their incredible ongoing work in truly indescribable circumstances. We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine.”

Del Naja does the artwork for the vinyl, and is reminiscent of Massive Attack’s Blue Lines album cover. It can also be purchased as a large print, again, with all of the money going towards Doctors Without Borders.

There are the infamous words of Dr Mahmoud Abu Nujaila, a Doctors Without Borders medic, on the reverse sleeve of the vinyl. He wrote, “Whoever stays until the end will tell the story. We did what we could. Remember us,” which he wrote on a hospital whiteboard in Gaza before being killed by an airstrike.

You can preorder the Ceasefire EP vinyl here.
