Young Fathers are a Scottish alternative music trio formed in Edinburgh in 2008 by Alloysious Massaquoi, Graham “G” Hastings and Kayus Bankole. Renowned for their genre-defying sound, the group blend hip hop, soul, post-punk, electronic music, pop, African rhythms and experimental production into a style that resists easy categorisation. They first gained widespread recognition with the Mercury Prize-winning debut album ‘Dead’ before further acclaim for ‘White Men Are Black Men Too’, ‘Cocoa Sugar’, ‘Heavy Heavy’ and the soundtrack to Danny Boyle’s ‘T2 Trainspotting’.
