Cause of death revealed for Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter, Victoria

Victoria Jones, the daughter of actor Tommy Lee Jones, has been confirmed to have died of an accidental overdose.

Jones, aged 34, tragically died within the early hours of New Year’s Day at the Fairmont San Francisco after being discovered by a fellow visitor to the hotel in a corridor of the building.

Now, according to a report released by the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, it has been ruled that Jones’ death was an “accident” caused by the “toxic effects of cocaine”.

Following her death, her family issued the following statement: “We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers.”

They also asked people to “please respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

After Jones’ death was announced, the Fairmont said they were “deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel”, and also offered their “heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time”.

The Fairmont also confirmed they were “actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation.”

Jones was an actor herself. She began as a child star, appearing in Men in Black II in 2002 alongside her father Tommy Lee Jones, and also had a small role in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which was directed by her father.

Tommy Lee said of his actor during an interview to promote The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada in 2005: “She’s a good actress, has her SAG [Screen Actors Guild] card, speaks impeccable Spanish. When she was a baby, I told Leticia, her nurse, to speak to her in Spanish.”
