Captain Beefheart’s ‘Trout Mask Replica’ reissued with actual trout mask
Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band’s iconic 1969 album Trout Mask Replica is getting a huge reissue from Third Man Records.
The new release will come as part of the label’s vault package subscription, which is now open through April 30. The set features the remastered record on 2xLP “fish scale” coloured vinyl, an actual replica trout mask, the first-ever repressing of the “Pachucho Cadaver” 7″ single, a print featuring Jack White’s epitaph for Don Van Vliet, and plenty more. Third Man notes in a press release that it is also “bulbous and also tapered.”
