Bruce Springsteen says he’s written most of a new E Street Band Album

Appearing at a Netflix event in Hollywood this weekend in conversation with his old friend Martin Scorsese Springsteen commented about a new E Street Band album. The event was part of FYSsee series, designed to promote their programming for Emmy consideration.

The Boss was on their to discuss his Netflix version of Springsteen of Broadway. He explained the inspiration around the production stating that an invitation from Obama to perform at the White House during the last few weeks of the former presidents time in office.

He was inspired to write a union of spoken-word memoirs and songs that would eventually turn in to Springsteen on Broadway.

It was in this conversation that Springsteen gave the most exciting news. After “seven years” of writers block, Springsteen says he found inspiration and “a month or so ago, I wrote almost an album’s worth of material for the band…I mean, I know where it came from, but at the same time, it just came out of almost nowhere. I had almost two weeks of those daily visitations and it was so nice. It makes you so happy. You go, ‘Fine, I’m not fucked.’ There’ll be another tour.”

At the back end of last month gave us his newest single ‘Hello Sunshine’ below.

The song is a lilting tip of the hat to a country road so often traveled by Springsteen. Always touted as a true American storyteller, this new song is another chapter in the book of Bruce.
