Bruce Springsteen shares previously unreleased song ‘Blind Spot’

Bruce Springsteen has shared the previously unreleased track ‘Blind Spot’. It is taken from his Streets of Philadelphia Sessions collection, which will be released in full on Tracks II: The Lost Albums.

The box set, which will be released on June 27th, 2025, features seven complete records made by ‘The Boss’ between 1983 and 2018. For various reasons, these records have never previously been released before he uncovered them during the pandemic and decided upon making a new compilation.

In a statement, Springsteen explained of Tracks II: The Lost Albums: “The Lost Albums were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released. I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.”

Now, he has shared ‘Blind Spot’, which was recorded in the early 1990s. It was set for release in 1995, but Springsteen decided to reunite with The E Street Band after seven years away, and the album got put to the side.

Springsteen recalled: “I said, ‘Well, maybe it’s time to just do something with the band, or remind the fans of the band or that part of my work life’. So that’s where we went. But I always really liked ‘Streets of Philadelphia Sessions’…during the Broadway show, I thought of putting it out [as a standalone release]. I always put them away, but I don’t throw them away.”

‘Blind Spot’ finds Springsteen contemplating exploring betrayal within the setting of a relationship which he explains was not linked to his own personal life at the time, stating, “That was just the theme that I locked in on at that moment. I don’t really know why. Patti and I, we were having a great time in California. But sometimes if you lock into one song you like, then you follow that thread. I had ‘Blind Spot,’ and I followed that thread through the rest of the record.”

Springsteen has a busy year ahead, including a huge summer tour that will see him visit the United Kingdom to perform three shows at the Co-op Live in Manchester and two concerts at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool. He will also play dates across Europe in France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Spain.
