Brady Ebert’s band Experience to still release EP following attempted murder arrest: “There’s no villain in this record”
After ex-Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert was arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder, his former project, Experience, has confirmed that their EP will still be released as planned this Summer.
Ebert, who co-founded Turnstile and was kicked out of the project in 2020, was arrested on March 29th after an alleged attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault for an incident involving vocalist Brendan Yates’ father, William.
After moving on from Turnstile, Ebert was a member of the band The S.E.T., who then let the musician go after they deemed a social media tirade on his behalf “ridiculous comments and behavior towards the members of our band and community.”
Ebert’s latest project, Experience, has now released a statement on the unfortunate incident, clarifying that they are “deeply” upset with his actions but are moving forward with the planned release of their EP, which marks their first project.
Their statement began, “What happened involving Brady is serious and deeply upsetting. Our hearts are with everyone affected. We don’t take any of this lightly. At the same time, we’ve made the decision to continue moving forward with our release.”
The 12-song EP, Stay Present, is thematically pertinent as it was “built around a simple idea facing what’s in front of you without running from it.”
They added of this ethos, “Every song lives in the present tense. No past no future just choices happening in real time. There’s no villain in this record. The struggle is distraction. The goal is awareness.”
As well as this, as per The PRP, the band’s Bobby Faithful has shared that not all guitar parts were written by Ebert, stating in a comment section of their post online, “Bobby, Zach, and Brady wrote a majority of the guitar riffs in addition to other guest appearances on the album.”
Turnstile released their own statement in response to the horrifying ordeal, sharing that William had made it through surgery alive.
The band explained that, since Ebert’s removal from the group in 2020, “his baseless tirades have continued in public. We never addressed it. We chose to protect his privacy and the circumstances around his departure, even when he did nothing to be deserving of that protection.”
As such, the Baltimore hardcore rockers now have “no language left for Brady.”
