Bob Dylan shares single ‘False Prophet’ and announces new album ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’

Bob Dylan has announced his first album of original songs in eight years. Rough and Rowdy Ways will be released next month, and, to coincide with the news, Dylan has released another song from the LP, ‘False Prophet’.

Dylan, it would seem, has heard the calls for an old guiding voice in these turbulent times, and the singer-songwriter has not disappointed. ‘False Prophet’ is a bluesy jam flecked with the Nobel Prize winner’s famous wit.

A new Bob Dylan is on the way, and nothing could make us happier right now. Not just because Dylan is one of the most celebrated musicians of all time but because his latest releases have been some of his best.

The album will arrive on June 19th via Columbia Records and has already seen two releases shed light on what the record might hold. Judging by ‘Murder Most Foul’, his 17-minute long reflection on pop culture, and ‘I Contain Multitudes’ a Walt Whitman-nodding self-reflection, we’re in for a real treat.

Rough and Rowdy Ways is the first new album of original material since 2012’s Tempest and is eagerly anticipated by his wide fan base and a whole world in need of an old head.
