Billie Eilish has released the official trailer to her upcoming concert film in collaboration with Disney +, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles. The film was directed by Robert Rodriguez and Patrick Osborne and will feature Billie Eilish performing her new album, Happier Than Ever, in its entirety at the Hollywood Bowl in LA.
The Grammy Award-winning singer will be joined – as always – by her brother, Finneas, as well as the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. The film follows a year of incredible successes for Eilish. Her recent LP out-sold every other top ten album in the UK charts and gave Eilish her second UK number-one single.
Introducing the film in a voiceover, Eilish says: “It’s a concert film, but it’s also a story at the same time, this kind of beautiful version of old Hollywood. And The Hollywood Bowl? It’s very timeless.”
As well as the live concert, the film also features animated elements; blending live footage with sections in which Eilish is portrayed as a cartoon, disneyfied version of herself. The film is set for release on September 3rd.
As if she wasn’t busy enough, Eilish has also announced a string of UK tour dates and has revealed the artists who will be in support. Jessie Reyez, Jungle, Arlo Parks and Girl In Red will join Billie Eilish for her 2022 tour of the UK and Ireland.
It has also been rumoured that Elish will be featured on the Glastonbury 2022 line-up. Fans have spotted that the singer’s tour is organised around the date the event is set to take place. She is currently listed as a ‘To Be Confirmed’ artist. The event has been cancelled two years in a row due to the Covid-19 pandemic but is set to go ahead in 2022.
