Big Thief share passionate new single ‘All Night All Day’
Big Thief has released the second single from their upcoming album, Double Infinity. The track, ‘All Night All Day’, is an emotional exploration of the essence of love.
Double Infinity will be the follow-up to the group’s 2022 Grammy-nominated album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You. It was recorded in the winter of 2024 at the Power Station, New York City. For three weeks, the band rode bicycles atop frozen streets between Brooklyn and Manhattan in order to make it to the recording session.
In February, they released Passional Relations, a five-track EP containing mostly unreleased songs from the Dragon New Mountain sessions. In June, they released the first track from the new album, titled ‘Incomprehensible’, hearty with indie-rock groove and gravelly guitars.
The new track posits love-making as the true expression of love, which is often incomprehensible and stored beneath and beyond the body, beyond and beneath the words we use to name or contain it. “Swallow poison, swallow sugar / Sometimes they taste the same / But I know your love is neither / And love is just a name,” Adrianne Lenker sings in the chorus.
Vocalist and guitarist Lenker has been extremely busy with a solo career, though she will put that to the side for Big Thief’s return. Her record, Bright Future, came out in March; Far Out said that the near-perfect offering was, “Uniquely perfumed with flecks of the farm, the marauding meadow and the river that runs through those trees, it is hard to distinguish Lenker’s musical output from the very earth she stands, gilded by her powerfully idiosyncratic vocal tones and wry lyrical positioning.”
Big Thief will tour across America from September to November 2025. They will begin performances on September 17th in Sacramento and finish their long run in Houston on November 7th.
Double Infinity will be released on September 5th 2025.
