Berlin 2026: Full line-up unveiled for film festival

The full line-up for the 2026 edition of the Berlin Film Festival has been revealed ahead of the event taking place in February.

The festival, known for its choice of arthouse pictures over chasing the Hollywood limelight, has followed suit with a similar style of line-up to previous years. But nevertheless, there are still some huge stars featuring in its films, including the likes of Channing Tatum, Amy Adams, and Callum Turner.

One of the biggest draws will be the film Josephine, directed by Beth de Araújo and starring Tatum opposite Gemma Chan as a set of parents seeking out justice after their daughter becomes a witness to a crime.

Similarly, the satire Rosebush Pruning is receiving its premiere alongside an equally starry cast, as Turner, Riley Keough, and Elle Fanning feature with the likes of Pamela Anderson, Jamie Bell, and Lukas Gage as a family struggling to come to terms with the truth surrounding the death of their mother.

The festival’s organisers, helmed by director Tricia Tuttle, say they have curated a selection of 22 films for its competition line-up, which span every genre, hence meaning that crowd-pleasers should be found all around.

“We are so confident in the charms of these 22 films that we say defiantly: If you don’t find something here to love, you don’t love cinema!”, Tuttle said as part of the announcement (via The Hollywood Reporter).

However, notably, this year’s edition of the festival does not feature a single major studio production, and instead is an all-independent affair.

Elsewhere on the line-up, the festival’s coveted ‘Golden Bear’ prize is potentially being touted for At the Sea, directed by Kornél Mundruczó and starring Adams alongside Dan Levy. That film follows Adams’s character, a former dancer, who is forced to confront her trauma after a stint in rehab.

Meanwhile, Sandra Hüller, the Oscar-nominated actor who starred in Anatomy of a Fall, is also set to premiere her latest movie Michael, from filmmaker Markus Schleinzer, which is described as a transgender drama set in the 17th century.

The Berlin Film Festival 2026 is set to take place over the span of ten days, running from February 12th to 22nd.
