Ben Shapiro confirms The Daily Wire are making movie with Jonathan Majors: “Heads are going to explode”
Jonathan Majors is set to star in a new action movie, produced by Ben Shapiro and The Daily Wire.
While it was founded as a right-wing news organisation by Shapiro in 2015, it has since pivoted to producing films and television series, including with Gina Carano, after she was dropped from The Mandalorian over a series of controversial social media posts.
The new movie with Majors is yet to have a title, but according to Deadline, it is reportedly in “the vein of ’80s and ’90s action movies Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers“.
Production has begun this week in South Carolina with Kyle Rankin directing the film, as well as penning the screenplay.
It marks Majors’ first film shoot in four years after he was found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and guilty of a further charge of harassment against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in 2023.
He was previously rumoured to star in Martin Villeneuve’s Merciless, but the film has seemingly not materialised. Before his conviction, he starred in Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Shapiro, who will also serve as a producer on the new film, took to social media to confirm the news, sharing, “Well, folks, you may have seen this rumour that we here at The Daily Wire are working with Jonathan Majors on a new movie, and that rumour is absolutely true.”
The right-wing media figure continued, “Yeah, I know there’s a lot of people on the left and on X that are very upset about this. They’re very upset about this, there’s lots of tweets. Okay, here’s the deal, you whiny little bitches, we don’t care because Jonathan Majors was cancelled all the way back in 2023. We are ecstatic to bring him back, he’s unbelievably talented.”
He said of the untitled film, “If you’re upset now, wait until you see this film. You’re heads are going to explode, like actually maybe explode. It’s pretty spectacular stuff that we’re doing.”
As it stands, no further information has been revealed about who will be joining the Majors in the cast of The Daily Wire’s new movie.
