With the band’s debut record only a few days away, you’d forgive Beach Bunny for slowing down a little. Instead, they’ve put their collective pedal to the metal and are ploughing ahead with ‘Promises’, our Track of the Day.
The fourth single to come from their hotly anticipated debut album Honeymoon, which arrives on February 14th via Mom+Pop, is another intently charged piece of frenetic bedroom pop that’s bouncing rhythm belies its content.
The track is the leading song on the band’s new record and with each release from the album, the anticipation for the full-length piece has intensified. Much like ‘Cloud 9’ and ‘Ms. California’, Beach Bunny are dressing the more melancholy moments in life within sweet caramel sonics.
Lead singer, Lili Trifilio says of ‘Promises’ – “‘Promises’ is a song about the frustration, doubt, and pain experienced before and after a breakup. It’s a song about loss and the most vulnerable song on the record.”
The song has also come complete with a brand new video as Trifilio is transported in her bed to romantically significant places from a newly ended relationship before setting her bed ablaze.
