Beabadoobee has revealed that she is set to give fans a first taste of the music that features on her debut album when ‘Care’ is released next week.
The British singer posted a behind-the-scenes ‘In The Studio’ announcement video through her social media channels in which she speaks about the process behind maker her forthcoming debut album.
“I’ve been recording an album in this little studio in South West London,” Bea says over shots of her at work on new material.
She later confirms that the album’s first single is titled ‘Care’, and will be arriving next Tuesday: “I remember it was one of the first songs I demoed for the album, and I’m just really excited for it to come out,” she explains.
“‘[‘Care’] kind of describes the sound I want to have as a whole,” Bea says. “It’s like the best type of nostalgic and warm feelings I want when people listen to my music.”
Beabadoobee also discusses her recording the song originally in her bedroom, revealing it features “jangly” guitar sound and experiencing writer’s block following her 2019 EP ‘Space Cadet’ which spawned the singles ‘She Plays Bass’ and ‘I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus‘.
The musician finishes by maintaining that her debut record contains some of her “favourite songs I’ve ever written”, adding that she “can’t wait” for people to hear the finished product.
