Barry Manilow postpones more shows amid cancer recovery: “Not quite ready”
Barry Manilow has postponed more upcoming Las Vegas shows amid his ongoing battle with cancer.
The ‘Copacabana’ singer revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage one lung cancer at the end of last year, leading to him cancelling a series of shows recently, as well as postponing his planned Las Vegas residency.
Though the star shared an update in January which posited that he was “feeling better”, a month later her postponed his planned 2026 farewell tour after a “very depressing visit” to the doctors.
However, only a month after that worrying update, Manilow revealed that he was “one of the lucky ones”, adding that he went into remission from the early stages of the disease after undergoing a lobectomy surgery as treatment.
On May 2nd, Manilow took to social media to share some more “good news”. He began, “I went to the doctor yesterday, and he said I’m making great progress and look great! Well od course I do! Thank you very much! All the training and exercising I’ve put in is paying off.”
However, the journey to recovery is a long and treacherous one. The star added, “He did say, however, that I’m not quite ready for Vegas. This means I won’t be able to return for our May shows at Westgate Las Vegas.”
Nonetheless, Manilow did reveal that he is hopeful that he will return to Westgate in July, and he will be ready for his arena shows across the UK in June.
He signed off, “The Westgate Las Vegas is my home away from home and I’ll see you all in July.”
The beloved singer will be kicking things off in Glasgow on June 9th before performing in Leeds, Liverpool, Cardiff and Birmingham, with a final night at London’s O2 Arena on June 17th.
Additionally, Manilow is also looking forward to releasing his 33rd studio album, What a Time, on June 5th.
