Barack Obama reveals his favourite songs of 2025
As each year draws to a close, former US President Barack Obama collates a list of his favourite movies, books, and songs of the year.
Rounding out 2025, the politician has released his list of favourite songs of 2025, which kicked off with pop star Olivia Dean’s ‘Nice to Each Other’ and the catchy collaboration between Kendrick Lamar and SZA, ‘Luther’.
Sharing a wide range of genres, Obama then recommended ‘Tatata’ from Burna Boy featuring Travis Scott, and seemed to dabble in a bit of K-pop, recommending ‘Jump’ by BLACKPINK. Nonetheless, he still enjoyed the classics, deeming ‘Faithless’ by Bruce Springsteen a favourite, too.
Obama appears to be a big fan of the new Rosalía album, Lux, as he includes her song ‘Sexo, Violencia y Llantas’ on the list. More mainstream additions from Obama include the likes of Lady Gaga’s ‘Abracadabra’, Chappell Roan’s ‘The Giver’, and Drake’s ‘Nokia’.
He also forays into the world of indie-rock with a recommendation of ‘Metal’ by The Beths and the new track from returnee Jay Som, featuring Jim Adkins, ‘Float’.
Obama and his wife Michelle recently made headlines after paying tribute to the late Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, whom they were meant to be seeing the very night of their murder. Reiner’s son, Nick, has been arrested for their murder.
