All Points East announces FKA Twigs as replacement for Doechii
All Points East have confirmed FKA Twigs will replace Doechii at the London festival on August 23rd, set to be headlined by Raye.
Earlier this week, the Grammy-winning rapper also pulled out of planned appearances this coming weekend at Rock En Seine in Paris and Forwards Festival in Bristol.
Upon announcing the cancellation of Doechii, All Points East shared: “We’re very sorry to announce that Doechii will no longer be performing at her upcoming shows. She is an incredible artist, and, like all of her fans, we were hugely excited to see her on stage. All Points East has an amazing line-up including RAYE, Tyla, JADE, Jyoty, Nao and many more, and it’s set to be a truly unforgettable day.”
They promised they were “working very hard to see who might be able to perform”, and have now confirmed FKA Twigs will headline the West Stage.
Meanwhile, Forwards Festival in Bristol have confirmed Mercury-nominated artist Nia Archives will be performing on August 24th following Doechii’s cancellation.
They said in a statement: “We would like to extend huge thanks to Nia and her team for stepping in so last minute to save the day, we cannot wait to welcome the Queen of Jungle to Bristol for what promises to be a very special performance up on the Downs.”
Doechii is yet to release a statement explaining her reasoning for cancelling her sets at the three festivals in Europe. The rapper is set to begin her first US headline tour on October 14th in Chicago.
Forwards Festival is set to have four female headliners on August 24th, with The Last Dinner Party, Jorja Smith, and Olivia Dean also set to perform on the same day. Barry Can’t Swim will headline the festival on August 23rd, as well as All Points East on August 21st.
Meanwhile, The Maccabees will top the bill on August 24th in Victoria Park with Bombay Bicycle Club, Dry Cleaning and The Cribs all set to play prior in the day.
