Australian psyche-pop outfit Tame Impala have been announced as the first headliner of London’s All Points East festival.
Kevin Parker and the band will top the bill of the East London event on Saturday, May 23rd with a line-up which also includes the likes of Glass Animals and Whitney.
In what is now the third annual event of the huge summer series in London, All Points East returns to Victoria Park and tickets are being priced at £65 which will be on sale from 10 am on Friday, November 22.
As aforementioned, Tame Impala will be joined by Glass Animals and Whitney along with Caribou, Rolling Blackouts C.F., Kelly Lee Owens and Holy F. The festival also confirmed that more acts will be added to the bill at a later date.
For Tame Impala the headline slot is the band’s only UK show to be announced as of yet as they prepare to release their eagerly anticipated new album. “There are all sorts of excuses I could serve you but it basically all comes down to me hating the idea of giving you anything that isn’t the best my entire heart and soul and brain can give,” Kevin Parker said of the new record.
“But I’m so fucking relieved the day has finally come that I can give you a date, I guess you are too,” he added.
