Adam Driver to star in new hostage series from ‘Adolescence’ director

Adam Driver has been confirmed to star in a new hostage series from Adolescence director Philip Barantini.

The series, titled Rabbit, Rabbit, has been confirmed by the streaming giant Netflix, which will be the home of the upcoming project.

Rabbit, Rabbit, is the brainchild of creator, writer and showrunner Peter Craig, who has previously been involved in The Town and Top Gun: Maverick. The series will be made by the independent film and TV studio MRC.

The synopsis for Rabbit, Rabbit reads: “When an escaped convict is cornered by law enforcement at a truck stop, he takes hostages in an effort to bargain for his freedom. But the standoff soon escalates into an unmanageable social experiment with his captives — and an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI Crisis Negotiator trained in ‘tactical empathy.'”

According to Netflix, there is no current timeline for when Rabbit, Rabbit will arrive on the streaming giant. Further casting announcements are also expected in due course.

Last week, Driver revealed he spent two years developing a Star Wars movie, titled The Hunt for Ben Solo, with Steven Soderbergh, that Disney rejected.

The Marriage Story star told the AP, “We presented the script to Lucasfilm. They loved the idea. They totally understood our angle and why we were doing it.” However, Disney weren’t on board with Driver revealing, “We took it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman and they said no. They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that.”

Soderbergh also said of the project, “I really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I’m just sorry the fans won’t get to see it.”
