Actor Awards 2026: Kristen Bell to host for third time

Kristen Bell has been confirmed as the host of The Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA.

The Actor Awards, previously known as the SAG Awards, announced their rebrand in November. The new name for the ceremony, which has been a prominent night in awards season since 1995, is a nod to their trophies being called ‘The Actor’.

The next edition of The Actor Awards is set to take place on March 1st, 2026, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. It will also be broadcast live on Netflix around the globe.

While the event hasn’t always had a host, unlike other award nights like the Oscars, Bell made history by becoming the first to host the occasion in 2018. She also hosted The Actor Awards in 2025. The only others to have taken on hosting duties are Megan Mullally and Idris Elba.

In a statement, Bell said of being asked back as host once again: “I’ve enjoyed hosting the show every time, so it was an easy decision to come back for a third. What I’m most excited for is the fact that I’ll be doing what every actor does best… sing.”

Meanwhile, Jon Brockett, the showrunner and executive producer of The Actor Awards, added of Bell’s return, “Having Kristen return to host feels like welcoming back a member of the family. One you actually want to hang out with.”

The nominations are led by Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which has scored a total of seven nods. It is trailed closely behind by Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which is fighting for awards in five categories.

Additionally, Hamnet, Frankenstein and Marty Supreme have each scored three nominations.

The Actor Awards also celebrate the best of television over the last 12 months, which is led by The Studio with five nominations. Adolescence, which recently had a night to remember at the Golden Globes, has also scored four nominations, the same as The White Lotus.
