Ace Frehley “forced to cancel” show after hospitalisation: “Please go to the fair”
Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley was forced to cancel a show at the Antelope Valley Fair in California after falling in the recording studio.
His representatives broke the news to fans, writing online, “Dear Rock Soldiers, Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital. He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time. As a result, he is forced to cancel his performance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California on Friday, September 26th.”
The statement then read, “Please go to the fair to support his friends in QUIET RIOT and VIXEN, and Ace looks forward to continuing on his tour and finishing work on his next album, ‘Origins Vol. 4’.”
Later, the representatives made an update to the post due to a mistake that Frehley himself had spotted. “ce just called to inform me that I made a mistake on the announcement by calling his next album ‘Origins Vol. 4’ instead of ‘Origins Vol. 3’ … LOL! The corrected version is below! Get well soon, Ace!” It was signed off by his manager, John Ostronomy.
Frehley’s next scheduled live performance is a headline show at Lincoln Square Theater in Illinois on 10th October. He performs currently with a live band that features Ryan Spencer on bass, Jeremy Asbrock on guitar and Scott Coogan on drums.
Frehley has recently been content with keeping himself out of Kiss-related activities. Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Tommy Thayer are set to play at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas for a Kiss fan event this November, which will feature other huge names in the scene.
Speaking to Guitar World, Frehley commented, “They asked me and I declined. There’s no way I’m gonna be involved with that, you know?”
