Kiss is one of the most influential hard rock bands in history, with four main members being Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss.
Their iconic and eccentric makeup made them stand out in music culture. Each member developed their own persona to match their makeup, Stanley being ‘The Starchild’, Simmons as ‘The Demon’, Frehley ‘The Space Ace’, and Criss being ‘The Catman’.
Their iconic look was not their only attribute making them stand out, their performances matching the loud and intense music made. Including daunting acts such as fire-breathing, smoking guitars and bold visuals.
Their biggest hits, despite not hitting a number one spot in the charts, became iconic sounds in the past and present rock scene.

Kiss was formed in 1973 after Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons posted a magazine advert, and held auditions where they recruited Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.
Kiss have officially retired from touring as of December 2023, their last concert was performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
