Robert Pattinson receives a right hook in explosive new trailer for ‘The Drama’
A24 has released another look at the highly anticipated romantic thriller, The Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.
The upcoming film, set for an April 3rd cinematic release, has enjoyed a unique marketing rollout: In December, a teaser trailer gave us the first look into the world of publishing executive Emma Harwood, played by Zendaya, and British museum director Charlie Thompson, played by Pattinson.
The teaser, which depicted them stumbling through an awkward wedding photography appointment, despite it being one of the happiest occasions of their life.
Shortly thereafter, an official trailer was released, which depicted a shocking revelation on Zendaya’s behalf, which is yet to be shared, between the couple and their friends after the crew encourages each other to share the details of the worst thing they’ve ever done.
Now, a week away from the official release date, the couple’s official 16mm wedding video has been released. The video begins with wholesome shots of both bride and groom looking bashful, set to a calming piano melody.
“Emma and Charlie, I am so happy for you, and I also just felt like you both came so far,” one attendee shares with the camera.
It soon cuts to the couple’s closest friends, a married pair played by Alana Haim and Mamoudou Athie. “We hope your marriage is as great as ours.” Haim’s character shares, deadpan, into the camera, before taking a swig of alcohol.
As more short black and white shots are interspliced in the clip, a shot of a fight, which leaves Pattinson’s character bloody-nosed and pulled back by his family, appears.
Despite not officially hitting cinemas until next week, news of the plot twist at the heart of the story has divided fans online. In one instance, a parent of a child who was killed in the Columbine school shootings has criticised the picture.
