Watch Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in crisis mode in new ‘The Drama’ trailer
A new trailer for A24’s next big hit, The Drama, featuring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, sees the pair grapple with a relationship in crisis mode.
In December, a teaser trailer for the film was released, which saw Emma Harwood, played by Zendaya, who works at a publishing house, and British museum director Charlie Thompson, played by Pattinson, stumbling through an awkward wedding photography appointment.
Now, a full-length trailer has been unveiled, which sees the pair gearing up for their wedding alongside friends played by Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, and Mamoudou Athie.
The couple discusses what stories they will include in their speeches for one another, including the first time they met and their first date. Incredibly, Zendaya’s character admits that Charlie is her first love and first crush, despite being 30 years old.
We see Pattinson considering how to describe her laugh in his speech, which is “very cute, but also kind of… Repuslive, even.”
Despite the saccharine start, things take a turn for the worse when the pair are encouraged by their married friends to share the worst thing they’ve ever done, and Zendaya’s admission takes the confessional territory to a much darker place, though her secret isn’t yet revealed.
Things unravel dramatically as their wedding approaches, promising a riotous affair. The project is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, widely known for his 2023 Nicolas Cage-fronted film, Dream Scenario.
Next year, Zendaya and Pattinson will star in two other movies set to hit the big screen: Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part 3. Pattinson also recently starred in another film that centred on a troubled relationship, playing a failed musician alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the Lynne Ramsay project Die My Love.
The film will hit cinemas on April 3rd, 2026. Watch the new trailer below.
