Zoë Kravitz almost lost pet snake inside Taylor Swift’s home during LA wildfires: “I was panicking so much”
Caught Stealing star Zoë Kravitz has revealed she almost lost her mother, Lisa Bonet’s, pet snake inside Taylor Swift‘s bathroom while they stayed at her property during the Los Angeles wildfires.
During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on August 12th, Kravitz revealed how she was displaced due to the tragic wildfires and how Swift came to the rescue, explaining, “She was kind enough to let me stay at her house.”
Kravitz added: “My mom lives in Topanga Canyon, so I said, ‘No, that’s a dangerous place to be. Come.’ And my mom has a pet snake, and so she has her evacuation stuff; she came over with the snake.”
She then shared that she stayed at Swift’s property for “maybe about two weeks” during the wildfires, which she described as “beautiful” and “something you want to preserve and take care of.”
However, once Kravitz’s stay was coming to an end, an unexpected dangerous situation occurred involving Bonet’s pet snake. Setting the scene, she recalled: “I was kind of packing up my things, and I was saying to my mom, ‘I really wanna be a good house guest. I like to leave places better than I found them. I don’t want her to even know we were here.’”
Then, the phone rang, and Bonet phoned Kravitz to explain she’s “in a little bit of a pickle” as her pet snake, Orpheus, “had found this little hole in the corner” of the bathroom.
Upon arriving in the room, Kravitz saw Bonet “holding the snake’s tail” and explained how they “started to panic” as the snake kept getting further into the hole despite her mother’s best efforts. She explained, “I was panicking so much that my mom likes to say, ‘If I had both hands, I would have slapped you.'”
Thankfully, the house manager was able to solve the situation, but it did cause huge damage to Swift’s bathroom. Kravitz shared: “We completely destroyed Taylor’s bathroom, and there was just this moment where I was like, either we destroy her bathroom or I have to tell her that there’s a snake somewhere in her house.”
The actor then phoned Swift to alert her to the situation, but before Kravitz had the chance to explain what happened, the pop star had taken the words out of her mouth, stating, “‘Is it the fact that you almost lost a stake in our house and destroyed my bathroom?'”
Kravitz is set to star alongside Austin Butler in Darren Aronofsky’s new movie, Caught Stealing, out in cinemas on August 29th. Meanwhile, earlier this week, Taylor Swift announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.
