Zendaya and Anne Hathaway to star in new Christopher Nolan movie

Zendaya and Anne Hathaway have been confirmed as cast members for the next Christopher Nolan movie, joining the likes of previously announced members Matt Damon and Tom Holland.

Although any specific details are being well guarded, it has been confirmed that shooting for the movie is expected to begin early next year and will be released on Imax in the summer of 2026—similar to several movies Nolan has previously released.

For the new project, Nolan will be penning the script and producing it alongside his wife and Syncopy Inc co-founder Emma Thomas. The couple have worked together on all of Nolan’s previous films.

Last year, Nolan earned seven Academy Awards and his first ‘Best Director’ win for Oppenheimer, which starred Cillian Murphy in the titular role and Damon as a lieutenant general in the US Army. Hathaway has also appeared in previous Nolan films, including 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises and 2014’s Interstellar.

However, this will mark Zendaya and Holland’s first outing with the filmmaker, though both have enjoyed significant blockbuster and box office success of late after earning widespread acclaim for Dune: Part Two, Challengers, and, of course, 2021’s No Way Home.

Holland’s most recent full-length feature was 2022’s Uncharted, an adaptation of the video game of the same name. In the movie, Holland plays Nathan Drake, a bartender recruited to find the treasure of the Magellan expedition. He also worked alongside Mark Wahlberg, who plays a fortune hunter who previously worked with Nathan’s brother.

Since then, the actor appeared in The Crowded Room alongside Amanda Seyfried and Emmy Rossum. However, he is still very much enjoying the success of his several esteemed Spider-Man projects, which earned him global popularity and introduced a new generation to an endearing contemporary take on a classic superhero.

Although several reports on the new Nolan movie have claimed to have details of its name, plot, and other potential cast members, these have all been wrong, according to an insider who shared the news with Deadline.
