Zayn Malik cancels all US tour dates following recent hospitalisation

Former One Direction member Zayn Malik has cancelled his US tour following a recent hospitalisation.

Malik, who released his latest album Konnakol on April 17th, was due to begin the US leg of his global arena tour in July at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

However, taking to Instagram Stories on May 1st, Malik confirmed that none of these US shows would now be going ahead.

He wrote, “To my fans: Thank you so much for all the support and love you’ve shown me on the album release and more importantly your love, prayers, and well wishes for my health. I’ve felt it, and it’s meant the world. I’ve been at home recovering and I’m doing well and will be better and stronger than before.”

Malik continued, “I’ve had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour. I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can.”

Looking ahead to the future, he added, “I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon. Big Love, Z”.

In addition to cancelling his US shows, Malik has also lightened his schedule by axing performances in Dublin and Birmingham.

Now, his tour will begin next month at London’s O2 Arena on May 14th. He’ll also visit Manchester, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Santiago, São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Lima.

It comes after Malik previously cancelled appearances to promote his album, including album launch shows in London and New York, due to his hospitalisation last month.

The British singer did not specify why he was in hospital, but shared on Instagram, “Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.”
