Zach Bryan forced to cancel hometown stadium show due to storms: “If I had ANY say in this, things would be different”

Zach Bryan was forced to cancel the first of his two stadium shows this weekend in his hometown, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Bryan was due to perform at the H.A. Chapman Stadium in the Oklahoman city on both April 3rd and April 4th, but hours before doors opened ahead of the first show, he regretfully informed fans it couldn’t go ahead for safety reasons.

The singer-songwriter told fans in a social media post, “5 years of touring I’ve never cancelled a headlining show. I pissed off plenty people this morning trying to ‘play anyways’. If I had ANY say in this, things would be different. I apologize and I love all of ya.”

He also shared an official statement, which reads, “To my fellow Oklahomans: I am being forced by my team to cancel the show tonight due to the threat of extreme and dangerous weather. I’ve never canceled a show in my life but I unfortunately don’t have a choice in the matter.”

Ticketholders will automatically receive refunds from their point of purchase, which could take a maximum of ten to 15 business days.

Additionally, he shared proof that the matter was out of his hands by posting a screenshot, presumably, from a member of his management team who delivered the bad news and began by writing, “I know you’re gonna hate me for this, but we have no choice to cancel the show.”

The member of the management team then explained that they’ve held meetings with local police, and meteorologists, concluding that “the consensus is that we would be putting people’s safety at risk by trying to put on the show.”

They also shared a lengthy statement about the weather from the meteorologist, who warned about the threat of tornadoes and gust storms. Bryan replied, “Are you kidding,” to the lengthy message.

As it stands, the concert tonight in Tulsa is still scheduled to go ahead.

Bryan’s With Heaven On Tour, in support of his latest album With Heaven On Top, which will visit the UK and Europe this summer.
