Yeah Yeah Yeahs announce details of ‘Hidden in Pieces’ international tour

Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced further details and dates for their upcoming international tour, Hidden In Pieces, celebrating 25 years of the band through reimagined versions of classic songs and beloved deep cuts.

The New York rock band, made up of singer Karen O, guitarist Nick Zinner, and drummer Brian Chase made the full announcement on March 17th for a string of intimate shows across the US and UK this summer.

It comes after they made a cryptic post on Instagram last week when the band listed the names of their eight city stops captioned with the word ‘Wait…’, referencing their 2003 viral hit ‘Maps’.

Now, the trio have made public a full list of dates, taking to the social media site once again with a nod to their esteemed tune by saying: “Hi, we’ve missed you, they don’t miss you like we miss you. Out of a deep desire to reconnect with our band family and you our lovely fans, YYY’s are embarking on a series of very special shows this summer. We are excited to announce our Hidden In Pieces Tour.”

Paying homage to the iconic film director David Lynch, they added: “The dearly departed David Lynch would say: ‘all you need to do is turn on the light and the darkness goes’. To let our love light shine we will be digging deep into our back catalogue. We’ll be playing songs that are rarely (if ever) performed, alongside all time favorites with new arrangements to delight…and yes there will be acoustic guitars and strings too.”

The announcement of intimate and possibly unheard material is likely to delight Yeah Yeah Yeahs fans across both sides of the Atlantic, who have followed the three-piece in their quarter of a century as an outfit. To that end, the band concluded their post by saying: “We’d love for you to join us for these intimate performances in beautiful iconic theaters to celebrate 25 years of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, not a bad seat in the house!”

Tickets for the Hidden In Pieces tour will go on sale on March 21st at 10am local time.
