Wolf Alice announce surprise shows in Ireland

Wolf Alice have announced a run of three surprise shows in Ireland next week, marking their long-awaited return after four years.

The band are slated to appear at Kilkenny’s Set Theatre on May 19th, Cyprus Avenue in Cork on May 20th and Limerick’s Dolans Warehouse on May 21st.

Fans are able to sign up for access to ticket sales for the gigs using their emails via Wolf Alice’s website.

It comes as the band are gearing back into life following four years out of the public eye. The band have been teasing their latest era on social media for a while, starting back in April with a string of cryptic posts on social media and the unveiling of a new logo.

They subsequently announced this week that lead single ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’ is set to premiere on May 15th.

The string of gigs will represent Wolf Alice’s first return to the stage since the release of their critically acclaimed third album Blue Weekend in 2021. The Irish dates will also act as a warm-up to the various festival appearances that the band have lined up over the coming summer, including a slot at Glastonbury.

However, Wolf Alice have a lot to live up to in whatever direction their latest sonic journey takes them, given that Blue Weekend garnered them stratospheric success in the form of a number one album in the UK, and a nomination for the Mercury Prize.

The band – made up of singer Ellie Rowsell, guitarist Joff Oddie, bassist Theo Ellis, and drummer Joel Amey – have yet to reveal full details of any forthcoming album or wider touring dates, but these are surely expected soon after their single release and Irish dates.
