Win Butler provides an update one new Arcade Fire music

Arcade Fire are putting the finishing touches on some new material that which will be their first since the release of since 2017 album Everything Now.

Win Butler, a huge fan of basketball team the New Orleans Pelicans, appeared on the Ringer NBA Show podcast and was asked about Arcade Fire’s immediate plans.

Discussing what they had coming up, Butler revealed that he’s “just working on a track – it will actually be out sooner than later.” The show’s host then asked: “Possible Arcade Fire single coming out this year?” to which Butler confirmed.

The last music we heard from the band was in the shape of a cover track. Taking to stage in Dublin, the band paid tribute to one of the country’s greatest talents Dolores O’Riordan who sadly passed away earlier in the same year. The band were on tour in the Irish city and felt it correct to pay homage to such a wonderful talent and cover one of The Cranberries’ most well-known tracks, 1993’s ‘Linger’.
