White House hits back and describes Jack White as a “washed up, has-been loser”
Steven Cheung, the communications director for the White House, has labelled Jack White a “washed up, has-been loser”.
Earlier this week, White took to Instagram to criticise the decor in the White House after images emerged of Donald Trump welcoming world leaders to the Oval Office. Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the UK’s Keir Starmer were among those in Washington as they attempted to help bring an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
White shared the image on his Instagram, which has been liked over 150,000 times, along with the caption: “Look at how disgusting Trump has transformed the historic White House. It’s now a vulgar, gold-leafed and gaudy, professional wrestler’s dressing room. Can’t wait for the UFC match on the front lawn too, he’s almost fully achieved the movie ‘Idiocracy’.”
The former White Stripes member continued his scathing attack by writing, “Look at his disgusting taste, would you even buy a used car from this conman, let alone give him the nuclear codes?”
He also described Trump as “an embarrassment to American history” while praising Zelenskyy by adding, “Also pictured in this photograph, a REAL leader of a nation in a black suit.”
Now in response, Cheung said to the Daily Beast on behalf of the White House: “Jack White is a washed up, has-been loser posting drivel on social media because he clearly has ample time on his hands due to his stalled career.”
Cheung continued, “It’s apparent he’s been masquerading as a real artist, because he fails to appreciate, and quite frankly disrespects, the splendor and significance of the Oval Office inside of ‘The People’s House.”
Following Trump’s election victory last year, White labelled the politician an “obvious fascist” and said that “now America will get whatever this wannabe dictator wants to enact from here on in”.
Additionally, in March, he altered lyrics to ‘Corporation’ to attack Trump’s political partnership with Elon Musk, and also poked fun at the collapse of their relationship in June.
