‘What We Do in the Shadows’ to end after sixth season
It has been confirmed that the sixth season of FX’s hit series, What We Do in the Shadows, will be its final outing.
Flight of the Concords member Jermaine Clement created the comedy horror series based on his and Taika Waititi’s 2014 movie of the same name. Premiering in 2019 and filmed in the mockumentary format, it follows the capers of a group of vampires living in modern-day Staten Island, who are helped by their human friend, Guillermo.
Starring Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Mark Proksch, Harvey Guillén, and Kristen Schaal, season five of the show concluded in August this year.
The executive producers of What We Do in the Shadows include Clement and Waititi, as well as Paul Simms, Stefani Robinson, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch and Eli Bush.
Season five concentrates heavily on the changes Guillermo is experiencing, as he spends more time with Laszlo, with Nandor feeling that something is happening behind the scenes. This forces Laszlo to delve into the mystery behind what is happening to the group’s human friend.
Vulture exclusively broke the news that FX’s What We Do in the Shadows will end after season six. Despite the show beginning production on its final outing in January, a source for the network confirmed to them that this will be its last lap.
In other news, Taika Waititi recently revealed that he only signed on to direct the hit 2017 Marvel movie Thor: Ragnarok because he was “poor” at the time. He then followed it up with 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder.
