Westside Cowboy announce debut album, ‘It Goes On’

After a cataclysmic rise through the indie ranks, four-piece country rock band Westside Cowboy have announced their debut album, It Goes On.

The group released their first EP, This Better Be Something Great, in 2025, which included their much-celebrated debut single, ‘I’ve Never Met Anyone I Thought I Could Really Love (Until I Met You)’.

Following this, they returned with So Much Country ‘Till We Get There, released earlier this year via Island Records.

Now, Westside Cowboy, who recently supported Geese on the UK leg of their Getting Killed tour, have returned with a new single, ‘Kick Stones (The Boys)’, alongside the album announcement.

The transcendental indie track was inspired heavily by The Velvet Underground’s ‘What Goes On’. Drummer Paddy Murphy has explained, “We always thought, if we can pull this off it could be really fun. Taking this mad, ‘70s rock thing but then having it played by a bunch of scrawny kids.”

The album promises to touch upon big feelings, with eleven indie-rock tracks that “aim to distil the confusion, desperation and blind hope of youth”.

The quartet will be supporting the album release with their biggest headline tour to date, which includes shows at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town and Manchester’s Albert Hall (full dates below). Westside Cowboy will also appear at festivals including Green Man, Latitude, and Reading and Leeds.

Far Out gave Westside Cowboy’s latest EP, So Much Country ‘Till We Get There, a glowing four-star review, observing, “It’s fitting that the artwork for the EP shows a slingshot poised in the moment before firing, capturing the breathless tension before the mighty release; Westside Cowboy are situated in that very sweet spot. Everything is set up for a successful launch. All they have to do now is fire.”
