Watch the new trailer for A24’s ‘I Saw the TV Glow’

A24 have revealed the first trailer for the eagerly-awaited horror movie, I Saw the TV Glow.

The upcoming movie was written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun and is set for release in cinemas on May 3rd, 2024. I Saw the TV Glow centres around two characters with an undeniable bond over their favourite television show, which to their frustration, is cancelled.

The film follows Owen, played by Justice Smith, and Maddy, played by Brigette Lundy-Paine. Maddy introduces Owen to a new programme called The Pink Opaque, which becomes a staple of their lives. However, once the network eventually cancels the series, strange things begin happening to Owen and Maddy.

The supernatural events plaguing the two send them on a journey that leaves them persistently questioning their reality. While it all began as an innocent passion for a television show, it quickly turns into an unexplainable situation that steadily alters their perception of reality, leaving them at risk of falling victim to the horrors of the TV show.

Schoenbrun isn’t a stranger to diving deep into scary storytelling. The filmmaker has worked on several horror movies, such as We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, and A Self-Induced Hallucination.

In recent years, Smith has appeared in blockbusters such as Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, and the Jurassic World franchise. Equally, Brigette Lundy-Paine was last seen in Bill and Ted Face the Music.

The cast also includes Boygenius’ Phoebe Bridgers as well as Helena Howard, Lindsey Jordan, Fred Durst, Danielle Deadwyler, and Sloppy Jane.
