Watch Scarlett Johansson in new ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ trailer
A new trailer for the upcoming blockbuster Jurassic World: Rebirth, starring Scarlett Johansson, has been released.
The Gareth Edwards-directed film, which also features Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali opposite Johansson, is the latest instalment in the Jurassic World franchise, following on from its last movie, Jurassic World: Dominion, three years ago.
The trailer depicts dramatic scenes as Johansson, playing covert operation expert Zora Bennett, leading her team of scientists across the dangerous expanse of the jungle, fighting off dinosaurs as they go.
Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team member, while Bailey plays palaeontologist Dr Henry Loomis.
Previous details released regarding the film described how the team are fighting to extract blood from a dinosaur egg as a potential cure for heart disease. The synopsis states: “In a terrain populated by dinosaurs of vastly different species, they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades.”
Coming off the back of its previous instalments, Jurassic World: Rebirth has all the makings of a high-stakes blockbuster production.
In this vein, its predecessor Jurassic World: Dominion became the most expensive film production in history, costing the UK taxpayer £89 million due to government initiatives which meant that shooting took place in studios in the country.
Original Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg is executive producing the film, a major draw to Johansson who spoke previously of her reasons for accepting the role as she was a huge fan of the first franchise.
Alongside Spielberg and director Edwards, the creative team includes producers Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley as well as executive producers Denis L Stewart and Jim Spencer.
Jurassic World: Rebirth will be released in cinemas on July 2nd, 2025.
