As part of Versus Creative’s new ’50on50′ series, the company welcomed the incredible Phoebe Bridgers for a special performance as she sang ‘ICU’ and ‘Halloween’ to a near-empty L.A. Coliseum.
It’s the first episode of the series and we’d hate to be coming up second as Bridgers, being the creme de la creme of singer-songwriters right now, delivers a show-stopping performance of two of her gems.
The series will showcase some of the world’s best musicians as they perform to an intimate audience amid the surroundings of an iconic venue.
Both of the videos featured were directed by Tone Corella and produced by Versus Creative and offer up an up close and personal performance from one of the most potent artists around.
Speaking with The Fader, co-producer Nate Auerbach said the aim for the 50on50 was to showcase artists “who we feel should be playing stadiums” and giving them license to do so.
“As an L.A. native, Phoebe Bridgers is the kind of artist that we want to see perform a hometown show for a packed Coliseum someday,” Auerbach said.
“I could not think of a better artist to launch this new series with us. We were so lucky to have filmed this right before everything locked down. For the people there, it was their first time hearing Phoebe’s new music, and probably their last time seeing a live show for a very long time.”
