Shane MacGowan, frontman of the legendary Irish band The Pogues turned 60 over the festive period and last night he was joined by some very famous names in Dublin to celebrate his life.
It was a bittersweet night for Irish music as we all mourn the tragic loss of The Cranberries’ singer Dolores O’Riordan, who died aged 46.
The likes of Nick Cave, Carl Barat, Johnny Depp, Bobby Gillespie, Jesse Malin, Glennother. Hansard, Cerys Matthews, Spider Stacy, Terry Woods, plus surprise guests Bono and Sinéad O’Connor came together at Dublin’s National Concert Hall to celebrate MacGowan birthday by playing their favourite Pogues songs.
