Watch Charli XCX star in the first trailer for ‘The Moment’

Charli XCX took the world by storm with her 2024 album, Brat, which became a global it-girl phenomenon. Now, she is set to star in an A24 movie about the ordeal, titled The Moment, and the first trailer is here.

In October, the ‘Apple’ singer confirmed the star-studded cast list via a strobe-lit, neon video; names included Rosanna Arquette, Hailey Benton Gates, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Kylie Jenner, Isaac Powell, Rachel Sennott, Alexander Skarsgård, and more.

With the same jerky charge, the trailer adopts the fizzing strobe lights and introduces Charli to the world of cinema. In the trailer, we see Charli and her friends discussing her success in a type of mockumentary style.

The trailer opens with an exchange between the singer and Shiva Baby actor Rachel Sennott, who asks the camera to stop recording. “It’s okay, they’re with me,” Charli insists. It includes clips from many of her headline shows, as well as appearances on talk shows.

“When I feel like people started to care about me, nothing else mattered,” she also admits in the trailer. “Nothing was more important than Brat.”

In another clip, a mannequin doll crashes to the floor and splinters dramatically. Looking shocked and disgusted with her entourage, Charli asks, “Is that me?”

The upcoming movie was written by Aidan Zamiri and Bertie Brandes. The ‘Party 4 U’ singer is also set to star in and produce the next film from prolific Japanese horror director Takashi Miike. She recently starred in Peter Ohs’ Erupcja.

Elsewhere in the world of Charli, she has recently confirmed that her next project will be the album soundtrack for the Emerald Fennell movie adaptation of the classic romance tale, Wuthering Heights.

Charli has since dropped two tracks from the upcoming soundtrack, which will be released alongside the movie launch on February 14th. The first single, ‘House’, sees the Essex singer-songwriter collaborate with The Velvet Underground founder, John Cale.

The Moment is set to arrive in cinemas on January 30th, 2026.
