Exclusive: Watch Billy Idol reimagine ‘White Wedding’ live from Apple Music Studios
Billy Idol is the latest guest on Apple Music’s Rediscovered series, which you can exclusively watch early on Far Out below.
The Apple Music series, which has previously welcomed the likes of Goo Goo Dolls, Norah Jones, and Estelle, sees iconic artists perform a reimagined version of classic tracks at Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles.
For his session, Idol, who was joined for the performance by his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens, delivered a rendition of his monster hit ‘White Wedding’, as well as 1984’s ‘Eyes Without A Face’.
In addition to ‘White Wedding’ being available to watch on YouTube, both performances are set to be released on Apple Music in spatial audio.
Only last month, Idol discussed the enduring legacy of ‘White Wedding’ and how it has taken on a completely different meaning over the last 40 years, telling People, “Well, ‘White Wedding’ was a bit of an anti-marriage song, but people get married to it. So, there you go. They changed that, the meaning of that.”
He added, “It’s funny, but it’s great. I’m glad people have enjoyed it. Whatever they’ve used it for, I’m glad they’ve enjoyed the music and I’ve had a great time.”
2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Idol, who is due to begin his US tour on August 7th in Scranton, Pennsylvania, which will keep him on the road until September 27th, when it will conclude in Albuquerque.
Then, in November, Idol will have his crowning moment when he’s inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Oasis, Sade, Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan, and Joy Division/New Order.
It’s not the only award that Idol will have accepted this year, either. In May, he was given the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the American Music Awards.
In his emotional speech, Idol poignantly reflected, “When I started out in punk rock back in 1976, we thought it may only last about six months — let alone 50 years.”
