Warpaint share new single ‘Common Blue’

Warpaint have released their new single, ‘Common Blue’, alongside announcing a new run of tour dates for later this year, coiniciding with the band’s 20th anniversary.

The celebratory tour will start on May 13th in Seattle, Washington at The Crocodile in Seattle. Warpaint will proceed to trek down the country’s West Coast, playing Pasadena, San Francisco before making a stop at Just Like Heaven festival. Their tour will end with a three-night stay in Texas, during which the band will play in Dallas, Houston and Austin.

To accompany the tour announcement announcement, Warpaint have also released the brand new song ‘Common Blue.’ The new track marks the band’s first new release since 2022’s Radiate Like This. It also sees the band reunite with Rough Trade, who were responsible for issuing Warpaint’s first album, The Fool.

In a statement, the band said: “It feels like a perfect return to where it all began! With these new songs, we tie a bow around this time in our lives and all the experiences and songs we’ve shared over the years. It’s been an incredible journey and has taken us worldwide, sharing good times with beautiful people. Our hearts are full!”

Last year, during an exclusive interview with Far Out, Warpaint’s Theresa Wayman provided an update on their plans for new music.

“We’ve been working on a new song lately, and there’s another one which didn’t make the cut on our last album, which we are assessing, and I’m getting excited about. When we go into this next album, I really want to have an idea and a concept. I even want to have an album title before we start putting the songs together,” she explained.

Speaking about their next record, Wayman revealed: “I want to approach it in a new way. Usually, we all write stuff, and it comes together, but this time I want to use a top-down approach and be more conceptual. That’s my dream.”
