Viet Cong – Silhouettes

Well, low and behold, it’s grey outside. So what better way to drown yourself in the monotony of returning to work than embellishing your creative side and enjoying all that post-punk band Viet Cong have to offer. ‘Silhouettes’ is a bleak look into the forthcoming album Viet Cong and it makes for good reading.

You may have already hear of Viet Cong, the band out of Calgary, Canada were formerly part of the art-rock outfit Women. The previous incarnation sadly came to an end after the death of Christopher Reimer, friend and band member.

Eventually the band got back together and have since been working on perfecting their sound. Perfect it they have. ‘Silhouettes’ is the second single to be released from forthcoming LP Viet Cong released January 20th. The track has all the nuance of a sound in between the transition of Warsaw to Joy Division.

Poetic and poignant but still punk and abrasive at heart. It bodes well for the upcoming release. We salivate in anticipation.
