Unsigned Sunday: Afterbloom - DUH

This week’s Unsigned Sunday comes from a four-piece who are relative embryos having only got together a matter of months ago.

Afterbloom hail from the east Midlands and come armed with a brand of reverb-drenched slacker-rock perfect for a lazy day wrapped in bed of a sabbath.

The track is laden with an echoey production sound that is all the rage right now, but it never risks becoming overbearing in this case.

There’s certainly a pretty big nod to the likes of The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine, turning soaring pop into a woozy and disorientating experience.

Having lit up the White Heat club night at London’s Lexington a few weeks ago, fans will get a chance to catch the band at what will only be their second show in the capital at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen on September 21st, as part of Hand In Hive & New Crush.

Just before that, however, the quartet will also take to the stage at the Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham.

And the best news of all, it’s free. So keep your eyes peeled for more from this exciting new project and check out ‘DUH’ below via Afterbloom’s Soundcloud.
