Unreleased Beyoncé music stolen from car while on tour
Unreleased music from Beyoncé has been stolen from a car used by her entourage, ahead of shows she played in Atlanta, Georgia, on her current Cowboy Carter tour.
Items involved in the theft included hard drives containing unreleased music, show plans, and tour set lists, as well as designer clothes and Apple headphones.
According to a police report, the incident took place on July 8th, as Beyoncé’s choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue were renting the car. The pair had parked their car at a food court in Atlanta, but when they returned, a window to the vehicle had been smashed, and their property had been stolen.
Police authorities in Atlanta say that an arrest warrant has been issued in relation to the theft, but the identity of the suspect has not yet been revealed.
Their report on the theft stated that “five jump drives containing watermarked music, unreleased music, footage plans for shows past and future, and set lists,” had been stolen, along with items that were “carrying some personal sensitive information for the musician Beyoncé”
The singer herself has not yet commented in a public capacity on the incident, but the theft of her unreleased music is likely to cause significant concern, as she has previously gone to extreme measures to prevent leaks prior to her official releases.
It is not yet known whether any of the items stolen in the incident have yet been traced or returned.
However, with knowledge of the theft not having been made public at the time, Beyoncé still completed a four-night stint at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, beginning two nights later on July 10th.
The singer will next continue the Cowboy Carter tour at the end of the month, performing two dates at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on July 25th and 26th.
