Tyler, the Creator releases clean version of ‘Don’t Tap the Glass’ following fan request

Tyler, the Creator, has released a clean version of his latest surprise album, Don’t Tap the Glass, after a fan requested it.

The Los Angeles rapper’s latest project, Don’t Tap the Glass, arrived on July 21st, only days after he announced the surprise effort. Tyler produced the entire album, which was released on Columbia Records. In an Instagram post following its release, he said the project was “made for body movement” at “full volume.”

Every song on the ten-track project was deemed explicit on streaming platforms. One fan noticed this and decided to contact Tyler directly for a solution. They wrote on X, “YO @tylerthecreator are you gonna put out a clean version? my lil brother tryna dance too.”

Only hours later, the ‘Sugar On My Tongue’ rapper replied, “On It.” On July 25th, he took to his Instagram story to announce, “clean version out now,” indicating that a non-explicit version was available for purchase.

The musician has previously explained that the project was inspired by friends who did not want to dance in public for “fear of being filmed.” The star mused, “Damn, a natural form of expression and a certain connection they have with music is now a ghost. It made me wonder how much of our human spirit got killed because of the fear of being a meme, all for having a good time.”

Don’t Tap the Glass is the follow-up to last year’s Chromakopia album. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and included features from Lil Wayne, ScHoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, Daniel Caesar, Doechii, GloRilla, Lola Young, Santigold, and more. Both projects have been released on a Monday, rather than the accustomed Friday.

Despite the release of Don’t Tap the Glass, Tyler is still touring his last album until the end of September. The tour began in February with dates across Europe, North America, Oceania and Asia, including special guests Lil Yachty and Paris Texas.
