Turnstile hint at return and new band member with billboard
Hardcore punk band Turnstile have hinted at their long-awaited return with a new billboard on Sunset Boulevard.
The group’s last album, Glow On, was a huge success that projected from the underground into the consciousness of the mainstream. As a result, they toured extensively for the next few years and rode the crest of the wave, but now, it appears new music is on the horizon.
Turnstile is set to make its live comeback at Primavera Sound in Barcelona on June 7th. Interestingly, the billboard on Sunset Boulevard lists June 6th alongside the message “Never Enough Turnstile”.
At this stage, it is unclear whether June 6th is when an announcement will be made or, more likely, is the release date for a new album. Notably, June 6th is a Friday which is also the day of the week when new albums are released.
However, there is still no confirmation regarding what June 6th indicates on the billboard on Sunset Boulevard.
The poster also shows five members of Turnstile, suggesting touring guitarist Meg Mills has become a permanent member following the departure of Brady Ebert in 2022.
New music from Turnstile would align with their huge plans for the summer. They are set to headline Outbreak Festival in Victoria Park, London, on June 12th before returning to the United Kingdom later that same month to make their return at Glastonbury Festival following their last appearance in 2022.
Other dates for Turnstile this summer include Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Porto, France’s Hellfest, Jera on Air in the Netherlands and Ottawa Blues Festival in Canada.
