Now, there have been a lot of odd musical ‘features’ generated by magazines, radio stations and more. Often they feel a bit contrived. But for some reason the Spotify Singles Session is proving fruitful. The most recent win is for Tune-Yards and their cover of Eurythmics.
The premise of the sessions, if we need to explain again, is that artists are welcomed into the studio to lay down a live version of one of their own tracks as well as a cover of a classic hit.
The studio has welcomed, St. Vincent, Wolf Alice, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rostam and Courtney Barnett to name a few. Now it has welcomed Tune-Yards. The band joined the team to record a live version of their I Can Feel You Creep Into My Private Life track ‘ABC 123.’
But the real moment came when they delivered a quite brilliant cover of the Eurythmics mega-hit ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)’.
