The album will drop at the end of the summer, August 30th.
Metal legends Tool last night shared the release date for their overly-anticipated, long-waited, been a damn decade, album.
The news was confirmed as part of the band’s recent performance in Birmingham, Alabama as a video screen flashed the date ‘August 30th’ behind the band. Subsequently Maynard James Keenan, singer of the band, was encouraging fans to share the news.
The metal herpo said: “Alright everyone take out your phones, security stand down and let these fuckers do whatever it is with their phones.”
The news is very welcomed by long-time fans of the band who have been waiting since 2006’s 10,000 Days for the new LP. Tool did, however, debut two new songs over the weekend with ‘Descending’ and ‘Invincible’ getting their first outing.
It’s fair to say Tool fans would wait for another 12 years for the album to come out, but luckily they won’t have to.
